What aspects should be paid attention to when digging trenches for PE water supply pipes?
1) Construction in areas with high groundwater levels or in rainy seasons requires precipitation or drainage. In areas with poor geology, trench support or foundation treatment and other measures are required.
(2) The depth of the trench bottom should be excavated according to the design elevation; when manually excavated, the bottom of the trench formed is required to be flat, dense, and free of hard materials. If there is over-excavation, it must be tamped to meet the design requirements; When mechanically excavating, a 200 mm margin should be left above the bottom mark of the designed trench, which should be cleaned manually.
(3) The excavation width of the trench bottom is DN+0.30 m. When pipelines are connected underground, the width of the groove bottom at the interface should be appropriately increased. The width of the groove bottom of the pipe should not be less than DN+0.50 m, and the total width should not be less than 0.70 m.
(4) When digging trenches, the original soil at the bottom of the trench should be strictly prevented from being disturbed. The foundation of the polyethylene water supply pipe should be an original soil layer without hard stones and salts. If the bottom of the trench is made of hard soil or soft soil, it must be processing to meet design requirements.
